Presentation : The Competitiveness Cluster – a driving force for regional development

By bringing together the economic and academic community, the AgriMip Innovation competitiveness cluster plays the role of catalyst for projects to mobilize the region's resources.

A federative organization

pole cluster developpement
The organization formed by the cluster grew out of deep commitments on the part of pivotal players in the Midi-Pyrenees agribusiness-food sectors.  AgriMip Innovation provides a federative organization at the regional level to establish mutually enriching identities: project leaders and driving forces; corporate groups such as Syngenta, RAGT, and 3A share their visions with innovative SMEs which participate in cooperative projects; technology transfer organizations contributing to the dynamics through their capacity for collaborative research.

Organized institutional and financial support

AgriMip Innovation has benefited from the support of public regional players who implement all of the resources at their disposal to enrich the dynamics of the cluster.  Two key measures demonstrate this determination: the CPER 2007-2013 (state-region project contract), and the SRDE (regional plan for economic development).

Optimizing financial tools

In addition, agri-industry entrepreneurs can take advantage of financial mechanisms, such as the IRDI (regional investment institute), one of the most important regional capital investment firms in France.  Innovation financing relies on national mechanisms such as assistance with R&D projects from OSEO Anvar.  AgriMip Innovation makes the most of all of these tools to optimize potential.

A pivotal objective: to clarify coexistence while establishing alliances

AgriMip Innovation is a “second generation” cluster, and was therefore created within a panorama of existing competitiveness clusters.  By adopting a clear and differentiated position from the start, based in particular on mastery of the agrichain concept, it has successfully differentiated itself from other clusters in the agronomic and agri-food sectors.  Thanks to a strategy of openness and search for synergies, it has built a network of alliances with the other clusters.
